FIELD COORDINATOR KPK
IN CHARGE OF PRIMARY HEALTH CARE
AND EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE PROJECT IN
KPK PROVINCE
Starts April, 2014
Since 2009, the
Khyber‐Pakhtunkhwa province (KPK, ex‐North West Frontier Province) has been experiencing
several crises, following continuous military interventions in various
locations which resulted in massive displacements of populations. MdM has been
operating to provide access to health care services to both displaced and host
populations in KPK since April 2009.
The health system in KPK, and in
particular in the areas where a large number of IDPs have settled, appears to
be over‐burdened and unable to respond to the increased demand. Indeed, qualified
human resources are insufficient; most of the health facilities are partially
damaged; drugs and equipment are often not available and the referral system is
not functional.
MdM’s approach in KPK is
community‐based and principled‐based and relies on the capacity to provide
adequate response to fresh crisis in the province as a result of conflict or
natural disaster.
KPK project main office is
currently located in Islamabad
