Role
To undertake the planning, development and delivery of NOWPDP internal and external communications, including website, newsletter and other communications. Plus establishing relations among potential donors and proposal writing.

Job Responsibilities

Communications strategy
Develop a strategy to publicize NOWPDP activities in the media, the NOWPDP website and social media.
Implement the developed strategy to increase awareness of NOWPDP’s activities
Design and create a newsletter to be sent to the member organizations of NOWPDP
Establish processes for the collection of monthly newsletter content

Content management
Management and implementation of NOWPDP’s overall online presence, across all programs
Collaborate with NOWPDP staff to develop relevant information and resources for the public in a timely manner.
Design and develop promotional materials for NOWPDP’s activities

Online Fundraising
Develop and implement an online fundraising strategy.

Candidate Profile
Qualification Benchmark: Masters or Bachelors in Social Sciences or Communication

Experience Benchmark: 
2-3 years
  • Preferably Masters or Bachelors in communications
  • Ability to communicate well in English and Urdu
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Ability to multi-task and to be effective in time-sensitive situations
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Publisher
  • Strong communications skills
  • Graphics design and web development experience (preferred)
  • Experience in branding and communications

1. Position Title: Program Officer E – Learning 


2. Reports to: Chief of Party/Deputy Chief of Party 

3. Overall Role:

The Program Officer – E-Learning will be responsible for developing the web contents covering all aspects of the organization’s online presence. In addition to writing, editing, and proofreading site content, the post holder will also work closely with the technical team to maintain site standards with regard to new developments. The Program Officer will ensure crafting site promotions, email newsletters, and online outreach campaigns. The post holder will work closely with Subject Specialists, Communication & Program teams. The ideal candidate will also have experience of managing online communications and outreach campaigns. Tasks require a strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines. Candidates for this position will require proven web content management experience. 


4. Specific Responsibilities:

  • Create, develop and manage content for organization’s web presence (requires working with content management software )
  • Maintain a consistent look and feel throughout all web properties and contents
  • Working with a cross-departmental team and subject specialists, maintain and develop the master content calendar for all web contents
  • Copy edit and proofread all web content
  • Keep current with emerging web technologies through relevant blogs and events
  • Assure web-based information is archived for future needs and reference. Track and report inconsistencies and further areas of improvement.
  • Assure web content is user-friendly and reviewed for SEO benefit.
  • Conceptualize content for the website while catering to the needs of basic local organization users to national and international level users.
  • Work with IT on content related enhancements and requirements.
  • Work with senior leadership and/or development teams to prioritize needs, develop criteria, and/or select solutions.
  • Conduct research and interviews to collect material for company’s website. Write and post content online; maintain web pages and blog(s).
  • Contribute to/update social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and others.
  • Monitor social media outlets and respond on topics related to company/industry/products.
  • Responsible for development of E-Learning Material including but not limited to learning visuals and simulations.
  • Managing Learning Forums, Webinars and Discussion Forums.
  • Capable of generating analytical reports for traffic tracking and usage of resources from ASP-AiD Website.
  • Help, plan and implement social marketing campaigns for specific marketing goals.
  • Keep up-to-date with best practices in writing for the web, social media trends, web usability, web design, and business/industry trends. Also with emerging web technologies through relevant blogs and events.
  • Participate in pre-launch testing and validation as related to content.
  • Create forum postings and press releases on web site
  • Assist in content creation & publishing of company newsletters (internal or external).
  • Any other tasks assigned by the ASP Management.

5. Education:

Master’s degree in Management Sciences, NGO Management and or a related field 


6. Experience and Core Competencies:

  • 3-5 years experience of managing content and production for high traffic websites with a flair for writing in different styles, both digital and print.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team
  • An understanding of Search Engine Optimization techniques and style to help drive web traffic to our website.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated to establish and achieve goals.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML and experience with popular content management software. Solid proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.

Shirkat Gah NGO Advocacy and Communications Officer

Shirkat Gah has an opening for the position of Advocacy and Communications Officer for its Lahore office. Salary range is between Rs.30,000 to Rs.40,000 based on skills and experience.

This position is responsible for effective internal and external advocacy and communications for women’s rights. The role of Advocacy and Communications extends to all three offices across Pakistan and will require field travel. 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Clear political analysis of  trends and developments in areas of women’s human rights, governance and livelihoods to identify areas of advocacy
  • Active local, national and international advocacy on issues related to women’s rights and empowerment
  • Effective linkages and networking with potential allies to take forward advocacy agenda  in Shirkat Gah’s thematic areas
  • Manage Shirkat Gah website content and visuals and other social media tools
  • Prepare, obtain and disseminate communications products such as SG E-Newsletter, Press releases, appeals on women’s issues, Annual Reports, write ups for the website, mobile messages, website content, videos etc
  • Manage Media relations through an annual media strategy
  • Increase Shirkat Gah youth outreach 

Qualifications

  • Masters in Communications, Journalism or another relevant social sciences degree 
  • Advanced knowledge of women’s empowerment and social justice issues
  • Advanced  English writing skills 
  • Minimum 3 years experience in communications related work 
  • Well conversant with social media and ICT tools such as websites, videos, radio, TV, online appeals, social networking tools i.e. Facebook, twitter, blogs, SMS, Youtube etc

Material Development Officer - World Vision Abbottabad

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
  • To facilitate the process of designing of IEC material for information dissemination on Citizen’s basic rights for their informed decision making.
  • Ensure that the rights of vulnerable groups are appropriately presented through the various types of IEC/BCC material to the humanitarian communities and the government for attaining affirmative social change.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES:
  • Ensures the preparation of visual tools (for the communities/children) such as pamphlet, poster, banner, cartoons, animations, audio and video productions for awareness raising for CICWB project through strong coordination with National Office Communications focal person for IEC/BCC material development.
  • Assists PC in preparing detailed implementation plan related to IEC/BCC material development for CICWB project and reviewing on monthly basis.
  • Travels to the target villages when necessary for information gathering / collection.
  • Works closely with Social Mobilisers/Community Officers for gathering information lacking required at the community level and coordinates with them to collect the feedbacks from the target villages (in area of Operation) to monitor whether information has effectively been conveyed and utilized.
  • Develops advocacy/citizens’ rights based stories in order to reflect the impact for project related donor reporting as well as for wider dissemination through Communications department.
  • Facilitates Communications department in gathering stories, in order to incorporate advocacy/citizens’ rights issues for information dissemination through the Department.
  • Works closely with Communications department to identify the mode of information dissemination in the community.
  • Works closely with Communications department and DM&E unit to learn and practice the Communication for Behavioral Impact (COMBI) tool and better methods for monitoring and evaluation (through pre-testing of IEC/BCC material) respectively, with the objective to promote and sustain behavior change.
  • Maintains record of the advocacy activities/programme(s), IEC/BCC material’s soft and hard copies, PRFs and media outreach activities. Also, maintains record of the monitoring and evaluation of the impact of IEC/BCC material and activities.
  • Keeps abreast with all the Advocacy Communications related events organised by other local NGOs and with their media strategies.
  • Facilitates and organises project related events.
  • Takes on specific tasks as assigned by supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTITUDES:
  • Degree in Social Science.
  • Experience of working as Material Development Officer, Advocacy Officer and/or Media Outreach.
  • Requires proven experiences in development work.
  • Requires detailed knowledge on policies and their impacts.
  • Requires strong skills of communication, negotiation, mediation and coordination, both verbal and written.
  • Importance of IEC material development on public interest issues.
  • Citizens Voice and Action (CV&A) tool. (preferred)
  • All the relevant Graphic Designing related software and InPage Urdu.
