Training Manager Job USAID Islamabad

World Learning has an immediate vacancy for a Training Manager for the USAID-funded “Training for Pakistan Project” in Islamabad, Pakistan. The successful candidate must be able to read, write and speak in Urdu.  Please note, a resume and cover letter are required when applying to this position.  Training Manager Responsibilities: 
  • S/he shall be responsible for overall training portfolio, including planning, designing, organizing, preparing or overseeing the preparation and implementation of all training interventions, including pre-departure orientations and briefings for all USAID/Pakistan participants. S/he must have thorough understanding of U.S. university systems.
  • Conduct training needs assessments, plan and implement training programs and evaluate the results of training interventions, and manage participants’ data.
  • In collaboration with USAID/Pakistan DO teams, work with the Chief of Party (COP) in the development of the USAID/Pakistan Mission Participant Training Plan.
  • Design and develop all materials and visual aids used in conducting pre-departure orientations for all USAID/Pakistan participants and plan, schedule and organize all orientations and briefings.
  • In collaboration with USAID/Islamabad Program Office, project officers and project contractors, partner institutions and project counterparts, plan, design, and develop all training interventions in line with Mission Participant Training Plan.
  • Advise other contractor staff involved in the planning, scheduling, organizing, and implementation of training interventions, where needed.
  • Coordinate with World Learning’s home office staff in identifying training providers, participant monitoring and tracking and data management.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in education/teaching, social sciences, or a related field (or career/experience equivalent).
  • At least 7 years of international experience in training or other programs involving significant multi-faceted and cross-cultural components.
  • Demonstrated skills in designing, developing and implementing training programs and cross-cultural training materials, and in conducting interactive training sessions.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills required as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated capacity to plan, schedule, and organize training programs involving many individuals and entities.
  • Familiarity with Pakistani culture highly desirable.
  • In-depth personal experience and knowledge of U.S. culture and issues affecting individuals who must live and study in the U.S. culture required.
  • Familiarity with and understanding of the U.S. education system and training institution context required.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Experience working in Pakistan or critical priority countries (CPC) desired.
  • Must have excellent ability to read, write and speak in Urdu.
